Oy, yet another social media network. Dare I join? I so don’t have time, and I have to say that while I think my use of some of these have been good as far as SEO, it’s hard to say so early in the game.
My latest SN discover is called Indiepublic, and touts itself as “an independent art and design community. If you’re an artist, designer, retailer, blogger, or just someone who gets giddy when they buy indie, we’ve saved a seat for you!”
Anyone a member over there? I did see a few folks that I know, but I so hesitate to add one more SN to the plate. Sure, these networks can be a great way to increase traffic and create inbound links, but if you don’t have the time to keep up with them all and if they keep you from doing other things like, say, actually making jewelry, how worthwhile are they?
Obviously, there’s a balance here that I have yet to figure out.

I am really liking Indie Public and trying to figure out the whole NING thing in general. I repost my craftier blog posts there and seem to be getting a good response.

I had a ning site, set it up, and then it wasn’t that active, so I sort of let it go. Then when I went back months later, everything I had done, pictures, text, etc. was MIA. That kind of ticked me off and I wasn’t ready to redo it all again. Indiepublic looks like a good choice for the etsy crowd.
