The Crafty Princess Diaries

Tammy Powley’s Crafty Weblog

About Me

Listen to a brief audio introduction.

Tammy PowleyWelcome to my Crafty Princess Diaries weblog where I get to blab about my passion for crafts. My name is Tammy Powley, and I decided to call my blog the Crafty Princess Diaries because of this very dorky picture I have of myself and because my husband often refers to me as “the princess and the pea,” which is just another way to say that I tend to be particular sometimes.

In the real world, I work as a Professor of English. Mainly I teach writing and literature classes. However, for many years, I have also worked as a professional crafter. For about the first eight years, I sold my jewelry through show circuits in central and south Florida as well as small galleries and boutiques. Today, I sell my artwork primarily through special commissions and concentrate more on writing and consulting.

Along with this weblog, I wrote and maintained the About.com Jewelry Making site for 15 years, and I have a number of jewelry making books published.

For crafting tutorials, kits, and supplies, stop by the Crafty Princess Etsy Shop.

Note: I often review books and products on this blog. Though now and then I purchase these myself, more often publishers and manufacturers will send me items with a request to review them. Please keep this in mind when reading any of my review.
