Jewelry Packaging, When Packaging Makes Perfect

I saw this video mentioned in a recent Etsy newsletter, and I think it is an excellent tutorial on the importance of packaging when it comes to selling jewelry or really any hand-crafted merchandise. I have to confess that when I used to do shows, I fell into the “stick it in a zip lock bag” category that she mentions, but that was back in the day when you didn’t have the competition you have these days. Most arts and crafts shows are flooded with jewelry designers, so small details like how you present and package your jewelry can go a long way in helping you stand out from other jewelry makers.

Welcome to the Crafty Princess Diaries, my weblog and site where I get to blab about my passion for crafts, primarily jewelry making, and my crafting career. My name is Tammy Powley, and I decided to call my blog the Crafty Princess Diaries because of this very dorky picture I have of myself and because my husband often refers to me as β€œthe princess and the pea,” which is just another way to say that I tend to be particular sometimes. Along with this weblog, I have a number of jewelry making books published.

  1. OH I love those cat tubbies!! I have a TON of yarn that I was going to put in the goodwill bag…well, I knwo what I’m doing with them now! Bettie the chihuahua would love one too! thanks for the inspiration!

  2. I’m getting ready to make another soon, though I’m going to try to figure out a way to keep the sides more stable. One the cats get in them and out and in and lay around, etc, the sides collapse, which doesn’t seem to bother them but it does me πŸ˜‰
