Right as Rain Charity

After posting recently about how a simple “thank you” goes a long way when giving your hand-crafted items to charities, I got some great feedback from my readers, which included a few tips on some charity groups that enjoy receiving and have learned to say “thank you.” One is called Right as Rain (thank you, Eileen for the 411), and you can find them on Facebook: “Out to Change the World One Craft at a Time. Right as Rain is a non-profit that sells donated, hand-made crafts and art to help real people in an unexpected crisis. It connects artisans who wish to give their gift as a gift and real people in need.”

This group also as a web site: www.rightasrain.org

This group looks super organized, and what’s extra cool is that even if you don’t have time to make a bunch of items to donate, you can go shopping in their store and still help someone in need. They sell accessories, art, clothing, kids items, jewelry (yeah!), and a lot more. I’m definitely going to check them out, and I hope you do as well.

Welcome to the Crafty Princess Diaries, my weblog and site where I get to blab about my passion for crafts, primarily jewelry making, and my crafting career. My name is Tammy Powley, and I decided to call my blog the Crafty Princess Diaries because of this very dorky picture I have of myself and because my husband often refers to me as “the princess and the pea,” which is just another way to say that I tend to be particular sometimes. Along with this weblog, I have a number of jewelry making books published.

  1. Last year our church ladies group made over 300 blankets and donated to our local charity hospital for all the newborn babies. We are getting ready to do it again. The blankets are made of fleece and we crochet around the edges. These blankets are actually very nice and warm. Our ladies group has a great time doing this, and we also invite our young women to participate. What a great way to instill the importance of giving of ones self, not to mention, they learn to crochet!

  2. That sounds like a great project. That’s one big plus about church groups because they tend to well-organized and connected to those who really need the assistance.
