September is here, and that means I have a new giveaway going on here on the Crafty Princess Diaries. We are looking at the craft of jewelry making again, this time looking at chain jewelry and the book Chains Chains Chains: 25 Necklaces, Bracelets & Earrings. For more details about this book, you can pop over and read the review I posted here.
Now for the info on how to enter the giveaway. First, here are all the rules and regs:
This giveaway is available to anyone living in the continental US. Post your comment only once in this blog entry and you will get a chance to win. The deadline for entry is September 30th midnight ET. Then during the first few days in October 2012, I will randomly pick one winner. Make sure to include your email address when commenting. I will email the winner who will have 5 days after the drawing to reply back with a mailing address. Anyone who does not reply after 5 days will no longer be eligible to win, and I will draw a new winner.
Okay, now that we have that out of the way, leave a comment answering the following question: Do you use chain in your jewelry designs, and if so do you make the chain yourself or use prefabricated chain that you purchase?

My 12yo daughter and I enjoy making jewelry and would love to do it more once we learning different techniques. We usually purchase chain to use, never thought of making my own. My daughter would love to make a little money selling earrings so new designs would be great! Thanks for the chance to win this book. Now I’m off to explore more on this site, looks VERY interesting!

I’ve actually done both. If it’s a piece with very special beads I’ll make my own chain in sterling, Otherwise, for the not so pricy beads I’ll buy prefab.

I haven’t yet used chain in my jewelry making, except as a means to hang the pendants I’ve made. So far those have been purchased, but I’d love to really learn how to make my own well. We learned the basics in one of my classes, but I haven’t had a chance to practice yet.

I usually use pre-made chain, but sometimes will modify it, only once in a while do I make my own chain, but love combining different types in the same piece.

I love to use chain in my designs…I use both prefab and handmade, though handmade is my preference. Thanks for this opportunity!

I make my own chain and would love inspiration for some new designs!

I use premade chain with most of the necklaces I have made so far. I am relatively new to jewelry making, but hesitant to learn soldering, so I thought hand made chain was not an option for me. This book looks like something I could really enjoy and learn from.

I do use chain in my designs. However, I’ve realized that I don’t use it often, even though I have loads of it. I’ve started to think that I need to make a more concerted effort to work it into more of my designs. I have kinda made chain in the form of rosary chain (with the beads included) and wire wrapped beaded chain, but I’m not sure if that’s what you meant. In any case, this book would be perfect for learning to incorporate more chain into my designs. Thanks for the opportunity to win it!
