For January 2013, you get a chance to win a wonderful new book that focuses on a specific bead weaving stitch. It’s called I Can Herringbone and is written by Melissa Grakowsky. I reviewed it over on About.com, so you can read details about what is in the book here.
This giveaway is available to anyone living in the continental US. To get a chance to win a copy of this book, just answer the question below in the comments:
What is it about bead weaving that appeals to you?
Post your comment only once in this blog entry and you will get a chance to win. The deadline for entry is January 31, 2013 midnight ET. Then during the first few days of the next month, I will randomly pick one winner. Make sure to include your email address when commenting. I will email the winner who will have 5 days after the drawing to reply back with a mailing address. Anyone who does not reply after 5 days will no longer be eligible to win, and I will draw a new winner.

What appeals to me is the ability to make more geometric patterns that I seem to be able to do freehand.

I have recently started beaded knitting and find myself entranced by all things beaded. I want to learn them all!

Weaving fascinates me. I weave fibers on and off looms. I look forward to learning more beading techniques past stringing, crochet, and cross stitch with beads.

I’m a new beader, and weaving is definitely the most appealing to me, possibly because I weave fibers in many forms as well. I’d like to learn enough about bead weaving to combine the two arts.

I love all things beaded and herringbone is one of my favorite stitches to use in CQ. Imagine the damage I could do to my DH’s pocket book by combining the two into one art form and restashing! Please…pick my number, lol. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

My Ravelry name is Brat58
I am intrigued by weaving with beads! I am an avid knitter and some of the most gorgeous pieces have glass beads in them!! It would be so nice to actually learn techniques to do that! I would also like to get into making jewelry and this would be a perfect beginning! thank you for such a nice offer!

Bead weaving allows me to create something that looks and feels organic from inorganic materials. The color and size variety in beads makes the possibilities infinite!
