Bead, Beads, Beads! Giveaway for Feb. 2013

For the month of February (2013), I’m thrilled to announce that I have a sponsor! Talented glass artist DD Hess will send the winner of this giveaway the beautiful lampwork beads pictured above. She is well-known for her heart beads and also her flower patterns, and you can see more of her lampwork goodness in her Artfire shop.

This giveaway is available to anyone living in the continental US. To get a chance to win these amazing lampwork beads answer the question below in the comments:

Post your comment only once in this blog entry and you will get a chance to win. The deadline for entry is February 28, 2013 midnight ET. Then during the first few days of the next month, I will randomly pick one winner. Make sure to include your email address when commenting. I will email the winner who will have 5 days after the drawing to reply back with a mailing address. Anyone who does not reply after 5 days will no longer be eligible to win, and I will draw a new winner.

    This may be a bit off the wall, but I’ve been playing around with knitting with beads lately. I think knitting these into a lace or cabled cowl could make for a very fun valentine’s day accessory.

    I can see a whole set of jewelry, a necklace with a seed beaded chain to hang the large heart from, a bracelet and a pair of earrings!

    Oh wow those are to cute to not want to really show them off!!! I would put them on a sterling silver chain and proudly sport them around my neck! Not to original but that’s exactly what I’d do! Brat58 on Ravelry

    I would love to use them to make necklaces for my granddaughters. Adding some other beads in white or pink

    Well I am addicted to bracelets and would love to create a beaded bracelet with these. Not sure what other beads I would use, but something simple to not take away the beauty of these. BUT I really like Sheila’s idea about incorporating them into knitting.

    There are several ideas I’ve got - bracelet with alternating beads and crystals, knitting stitch markers, dangly erraings. Thanks!

    I could use these beads on a CQ block or, better yet, to make scissors fobs with one of htese added to a Kumihimo braid perhaps. Gosh, earrings would be nice for my granddaughters.the list goes on. Thanks for the opportunity to win. They are lovely. ladyjspice@aol.com
