Yup, it’s in the 80s already down here in Florida, but I am not going to let that stop me from making some yarn goodness, including these fingerless gloves I made for my husband. Hey, he can use them in the winter when it gets a little cool out. I made a pair for him using some Lion Brand sock yarn awhile back, and at first he was skeptical that they would be useful. However, after using them on a camping trip, he is now a fingerless glove believer and asked that I make him a pair using some of my fancy yarn. These won’t be going camping though! So here is the result: a pair using hand-dyed yarn from Leading Men Fiber Arts in the Tranquil colorway and Show Stopper base, which is 80% superwash Merino wool, 10% nylon, and 10% cashmere.
Every time I use this pattern, I have trouble of some kind, lots of frogging, but it is still my favorite as far as the outcome (when I finally get it right). It is a free pattern from Lion Brand called All Season Wristers. For guys, they need to be super sized. I use the large size pattern instructions as well as go up to a G hook. Plus I add an inch of single crochet to the top of each as well as do extra rows on the thumbs.
