My Coqui Silver and Gold Pendant

I’ve been posting videos where my sister (Tappingflamingo) and I share our latest adventures on our eight day eastern Caribbean cruise, and one of the ports of call was Puerto Rico. Last year, we visited the same port. San Juan to be exact, and we scored some great beads and some beautiful earrings from a pair local artisans (a husband and wife team). Unfortunately, back-to-back hurricanes hit the island a few months later, and we were unsure about what we would find on our return trip a year later. Along with hunting down the bead shops again, we wanted to find the artists who created the earrings we at a shop called Tropical Treasures. The shop is no longer open, but we did find their work at another shop, which means I scored this adorable Coqui pendant of theirs. It is silver, with a gold leg and green topaz eyes, and it is plated with palladium, to help it resist tarnishing.

Welcome to the Crafty Princess Diaries, my weblog and site where I get to blab about my passion for crafts, primarily jewelry making, and my crafting career. My name is Tammy Powley, and I decided to call my blog the Crafty Princess Diaries because of this very dorky picture I have of myself and because my husband often refers to me as “the princess and the pea,” which is just another way to say that I tend to be particular sometimes. Along with this weblog, I have a number of jewelry making books published.
