Our second episode of the Peace Craft Love Podcast is up and, of course, we had to go with a Halloween theme. We also are hosting a giveaway, so make sure you check out the video where you can find the giveaway rules in the description box.
Here are show notes from this episode:
Out of Sight – Terry made some Christmas ornaments for her children and grandchildren. Tammy finished a doll dressing using this free pattern:
Frill long sleeves dress # 18″ dolls dress
Here’s the Skinny – Terry is using recycled guitar strings and other goodies to make some super cool looking dream catchers. Tammy has started making the Easy Asymmetric Fall Cardigan by Annoo Crochet Designs and is using sock-weight yarn from Expressions Fiber Arts
Far Out and Groovy Goods – Tammy and Terry were gifted Erica Arndt’s Scrap Bin Pattern as well as an extra pattern to giveaway to one lucky podcast viewer. Details for entering to win are in the description box under the podcast video on Tammy’s Youtube channel. Deadline to enter is November 6, 2020.
Our Gigs – Terry has a new video up where she creates a jewelry piece using her latest Bead Box Bargain subscription. Tammy has rebranded her old Crafty Princess Diaries Newsletter into the Peace Craft Love Newsletter and is asking for subscribers.

I love it when I can add to my collection and support a doll artist at the same time. I recently acquired an adorable tiny doll from Mrs. Frazzled, just in time for Halloween, and show her off in a new video.

If you are a crafter, especially if you knit, crochet, or sew, then you’ve probably seen the ads for Darn Good Yarn all over the Internet. The sneak over on the sidebar or plop right in the middle of my Facebook feed all the time. So, yes, I caved, and I subscribed to both the fabric subscription box and the yarn subscription box. In this video, I give you my personal take on both after having received them for a few months.

Episode 1 of the Peace Craft Love Podcast is up on my Youtube channel, and my sister who hosts the podcast with me, Terry Jeanette Carter, and I would like to thank everyone who has watched and commented over there so far. It is very encouraging, especially when I know there are so many wonderful podcasts (both audio and video) out there on the Internet. We are feeling the good vibes of being part of this community and sharing our love of all this crafty.
We are plotting and planning our next episode, which (fingers crossed) should publish on Halloween. So, if you haven’t yet, make sure to head over to the Peace Craft Love Youtube channel and subscribe and click on the bell icon so you receive notification updates.

We love to craft all the things, both my sister, Terry Jeanette Carter (aka Tappingflamingobling) and myself. Our family is made up of makers. My father constructed our furniture, some of which still populates our homes today, and my mother sewed our clothes.
While I’ve had some crafting related videos on my Youtube channel for years, sometimes even filming an impromptu podcast/vlog with Terry who also has a Youtube channel, it’s not been something that was really planned that much. That has finally changed 🙂
I’m happy to introduce a new endeavor we’re calling the Peace Craft Love Podcast, a biweekly podcast where Terry and I will share our love of crafting: crochet, knitting, jewelry making/beading, sewing, needlework, and more. We just launched our first episode (embedded below), and we’d love for you to get a cup of your favorite beverage, sit back, and chill with us for a little while.
I will continue to also post doll collecting and doll crafting videos, but I have decided to change the name of my channel to Peace Craft Love because it fits more with the direction I plan to take with it. Please feel free to comment under the video on my channel or down below. I’m also including show notes if you want to check out some of the items we talk about (some of which are affiliate links):

I have fallen way down the mask sewing rabbit hole. I’ve made dozens and given them away to friends and family, and I have a stash I’ll be donating whenever school gets back to some in person classes. I’m also selling them on an old Etsy shop I’ve had. I gave the shop a massive facelift and renamed it to Lotus Flower Kawaii. I sell masks as well as yoga and nature inspired products that I make.
For example, I have some headbands in there, scrunchies, and of course….jewelry.
Frugal maker that I am, I’ve been collecting fabric scraps as I sew, and recently, I’ve started diving into my scrap basket to make doll clothes. I show some of the doll clothing I stitched in this video:

I received a press release about a new show on HBO MAX called Craftopia where young crafters compete using their crafting skills. If you have a subscription to the HBO MAX service, this looks like a good show to enjoy with your children:
CRAFTOPIA
Craftopia is an epic kids crafting competition show hosted and executive produced by YouTube influencer Lauren Riihimaki aka (LaurDIY). Creating and demonstrating crafts to over 8.9 million subscribers on her YouTube channel, LaurDIY has been deemed the “millennial Martha Stewart” by Forbes. On Craftopia, 9 to 15-year old contestants put their imaginations to the test and make their crafting dreams come true in a magical studio. After racing to fill up their carts with inspiring materials from the studio “store,” crafters meet larger-than-life challenges, making truly inventive and amazing creations in order to take home the ‘Craftrophia.’
Craftopia is executive produced by Rhett Bachner and Brien Meagher for B17 Entertainment.
